Purpose: Learn about seventy-five spiritual innovators. Apply discoveries made in this course to personal living and Christian community. Goals: 1. To help participants discover what is meant by spirituality today. 2. To discover how prophetic persons have contributed to spiritual innovation. 3. To understand this in light of the modern global reality of interspirituality. 4. To encourage persons with initiative to focus on favourite innovators and share their findings with the group. 5. To combine quality content sessions with a small group process that encourages participant involvement and enhanced learning. 6. To progress from an awareness of spiritualities in general to a more effective and creative integration of interspiritual values in our congregational life. Characteristics: 1. This book focuses on spirituality, not theology per se. 2. Its emphasis is on story and imagery, not doctrinal concepts. 3. Its subject matter ranges across the globe and all the religious traditions. 4. There are many reference books and internet links for each person studied so that interested students can follow up with their own research.
