A Theology of Liberation: History, Politics and Salvation - you can read 15 pages on review at Amazon.com
Short bio on the Theology page at Notre Dame.
In 2002 he renewed his vows. Here is the webpage his order (The Dominicans - "Order of Preachers") put up in his honour, with short review of his current work.
"If the earlier theologians of this century focused on the height or depth of God, speculating on the nature of God, God's modus operandi in the world, Gutierrez focused on what was happening to God's children--the people of God throughout Latin America." ... Maggie McNaught, First United Methodist, Palo Alto. A sermon on liberation theology with cittations.
"Every person and every country must find concrete ways. I merely give one example: foreign debts. Pope John Paul II demands a radical debt relief. Debt relief is very important though not the solution to all problems. Christians of rich countries should exert pressure on the governments of their lands. In these days, remission of debts for central american countries afflicted by the weather catastrophes is emphasized. This is very good. However the relief must be expanded to countries of Africa and also other countries of Latin America. This is a challenge for the rich countries." from a short interview in Neue Luzerner Zeitung Germany in '98
Quotations

"Abroad I'm regarded as a theologian, but in Peru I'm thought of as an activist."

"All the political theologies, the theologies of hope, or revolution, and of liberation, are not worth one act of genuine solidarity with exploited social classes. They are not worth even one act of faith, love, and hope, committed--in one way or another--in active participation to liberate persons from everything that dehumanizes them and prevents them from living according to the Word of God." ... A Theology of Liberation*

"Globalization nourishes the illusion that we are on the way to a united world. This is not true. There are at least two worlds. One of them is the world of the marginalized, rejected or excluded. The expulsion of the poor is much more radical today than in the past. Whoever has no work is affected. There is a cynical saying which has a core of truth. The poor, it is said, were not interesting enough to be exploited. A large part of the population actually stands outside the economic system. " from the '98 Neue Luzerner Zeitung interview
