AFRICA PROJECTS IN RESPONSE TO OUR STEPHEN LEWIS STUDY - WINTER/SPRING, 2007.
On Monday, March 26th, a group of 16 people, representing 30+ individuals who had taken the Race Against Time/Seeking the Sacred Winter Course at St. Davids, met to discuss possible projects that could be undertaken in light of what we had learned.

The purpose of this gathering was to brainstorm all possible activities we could think of, and get these before the members of the St. Davids Adult Ed. Forum (approximately 85 folk).

Since Stephen Lewis is coming to Cagary on Thursday, May 24th we decided to let this event be the engine driving our efforts to determine activities we could support.

Our hope was that we could begin toconnect individuals and groups to activities, and that a broad range of projects could spin off, and be on-going from there.

We divided possible activities into three main groupings:

1. Personal Projects
2. Monday Night Study Group/Adult Ed Forum Projects
3. Congregational and Extra-Congregational Projects

Our efforts would support three types of initiatives:

1. Local social justice Initiatives
2. United, Denominational and Para-Church Initiatives
3. Non-Governmental Initiatives (NGOs)

At this point, I will list the various activities we suggested. In some
cases, I will include web, email and phone links. In other instances
I will include names of persons who have a special project interest,
and with whom others may wish to participate.
