“God did not need to create you, but he chose to create you for His own enjoyment. You exist for his benefit, his glory, his purpose and his delight.” ... Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life
Tonight we began to explore the first of the purposes God has for our lives. We also began to get to know each other better in our small groups and lots of commonalities in spirit and purpose were uncovered. When looking at the phrase, “You were planned for God’s pleasure” we used the analogy of a Parent-Child relationship. This analogy allows for personal growth and achievement while the parent (God), takes pleasure in our achievements and loves us even when we fail. We explored all the different ways we Worship in our everyday lives, and how even the smallest thing if done for the glory of God and in his name is worship. We talked about “Becoming best friends with God” (Ch. 11). What does that mean and how do we develop that friendship? (Ch. 12). Lots of good discussion and personal insights and growth have been noted throughout the participants as the 40 Days of Purpose works in different ways in each of our lives.

We look forward to what God has in store for us next week.
